Introduction
At OGA Women’s Health, compassionate, relationship-centered care is at the heart of what all of our providers do. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, and certified nurse midwives are committed to listening, educating, supporting, and caring for women through every stage of life.
Midwifery care is one of the many care options available within our OGA team and offers an additional approach for women seeking pregnancy and women’s healthcare within a collaborative medical practice.
For women with low-risk pregnancies, midwifery care allows much of their pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care to be managed by a certified nurse midwife while remaining connected to the larger OGA team and resources.
What Is Midwifery Care?
Certified nurse midwives are advanced practice providers specializing in pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, and women’s health. They work closely with OGA physicians and providers to offer safe, evidence-based care focused on education, communication, and individualized support.
At OGA Women’s Health, midwives are fully integrated within our team-based model of care. Patients benefit from continuity with their midwife while also having seamless access to physician collaboration and specialty care whenever medically appropriate or needed.

The Strength of Team-Based Care
One of the unique aspects of midwifery care at OGA Women’s Health is the close collaboration between midwives, physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, sonographers, and specialists.
This integrated approach allows women with low-risk pregnancies to receive care primarily from their midwife while also benefiting from the experience and support of the broader OGA medical team if circumstances change or additional medical care becomes necessary.
Our goal is always the same across every provider at OGA — helping women feel supported, informed, respected, and confidently cared for.
